About Me
Law has always been my calling. Being a third-generation attorney, with a proclivity for writing and literature, I was drawn to listening to people’s stories and wanted to help. During law school, I worked with the Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic, representing homeless military veterans at the Department of Child Support Services. After a brief time working with a general civil law firm in San Diego, I knew that helping families was what I wanted to do and have practiced family law exclusively since 2012.
With over 10-years of experience, Ian values each client he works with and treats each case as unique to its specific circumstances. Focusing on my clients’ goals, families, and needs, I provide every client with personalized, strategic, results-driven legal representation. All client cases are handled with careful calculation and the implementation of amicable negotiation and aggressive litigation, and I never hesitate to take the steps necessary to protect my clients’ interests.
Originally from Croton-on-Hudson, New York, I moved to California in 2008 for law school. After working for a small family law firm for a couple of years in Contra Costa County, I started my own law firm in Oakland in 2014. While still running my own firm, I am also proud to be a part of the Levine Family Law team.
When I am not zealously representing clients in court or working for them at the office, I can be found reading at a park, writing at a café, exercising at the gym or a yoga class, or enjoying various concerts at the many great music venues throughout the Bay Area.
